Excellus BlueCross BlueShield Reinstating Reimbursement for Preventive Health Visits for Children and Adults via Telehealth During the Public Health Emergency

Excellus BlueCross BlueShield is steadfast in it’s commitment to ensuring continuity of
care for their members during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Due to the recent
surge in COVID-19 cases in the communities that Excellus serves, they are reinstating
reimbursement for preventive health visits for children and adults conducted via
telehealth when an in-person visit is not advisable and postponement is not feasible. This
assistance contingency is effective immediately; they will provide advance notice to
providers prior to discontinuance of this contingency.
